The problem with activating Cakewalk

Good day everyone! For the second day, I cannot confirm the activation of the Cakewalk by BandLab program (Version: 2023.09 Build 075, 64 bit). I log in to the site with my account, but it doesn't help. The Win 8.1 x64 Corporate operating system. I installed the program for the first time in early 2023 and everything worked without problems. How do I activate Cakewalk?

You can’t activate such an old version. Instead, download the latest version of Cakewalk by BandLab from here. That version was released in December 2024. Once installed, the activation will most likely work as expected.

Thanks for the reply. But it says it's for Windows 10 or higher (64-bit only). Unfortunately, you cannot reinstall the operating system from 8.1 to 10 on this computer.

@Canopus meant you can't activate such an old version of Cakewalk... not the version of the operating system.

The latest version of Cakewalk is 2024.12.

Later versions of Cakewalk may complain that you're not on Windows 10, but it will still install.  I've had it running on a Windows 7 machine without issues.

I think you misunderstood the reply by Canopus . I believe he was stating that you are trying to activate an "old" version of "Cakewalk by Bandlab" on your win 8.1 pc. You need to download the latest version of CbB.

If it doesn't work you can try compatibility mode:

1. Right-click the file installer.exe or Cakewalk.exe once installed
2. Select Properties
3. Click Compatibility tab
4. Check box Run this program in compatibility mode for
5. Select Windows 8
6. Cllick OK
