Hello, I have just updated from Sonar X1.

With C by B . . . I just saved a trial project.  I noticed that there is a separate audio folder for the project, which i believe is referred to as Per Project Audio Folder.  The audio also saved into the Cakewalk/Audio folder . . . which is the global folder.  Does that mean the audio is being saved twice?  Just thinking about implications with taking up disk space.

Audio files are saved once to the project "Audio" folder IF Copy all audio with project is checked when saving.

If unchecked, audio will be saved to the global audio folder located where ever stated in Preferences > File > Audio Data.

There is also a global Picture Cache folder that should be purged (everything deleted) periodically.  It's for temporary files used while a project is open, but they remain afterward so it fills up over time.

honestly surprised they haven't included a non-user-intervention-solution for this yet, it's caused problems forever

Mine's on a 50GB drive partition with the global Audio Data folder so I don't have to worry about it for several months... just long enough for me to remember to do it. :)

For all Daw’s and any software the first thing I do after installing it is go into preferences/settings and make sure to set a default folder that is on my Data drive for saving projects/movies/documents etc.

Never let software use a default file location because it will be in C drive and usually hides deep down in User data somewhere where you will have trouble finding it.
This takes 2 seconds to set up and then you will know where your stuff is stored.
On my Data drive I have a separate folder for each Daw and all the software that I use.
