jwnicholson78 Posted May 9 Posted May 9 (edited) My mother passed away earlier this year. She was 95, and lived a hell of life. She traveled all over the world, visiting every continent, had 13 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. This song is for her. I tried to do my best to honor her. jeff Edited May 9 by jwnicholson78 5

bjornpdx Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Jeff, That's a beautiful and emotional tribute to your mother. I did the same for my mom a while ago and I get all blubbery when I listen to it now and then. You might experience the same. -Bjorn 1

I have a similar one that I did for my dad about six years ago when he passed and I still get a teary when I watch it now and then.

I had three or four false starts before I landed on the final one that I felt captured what I was looking for. 1
treesha Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Hi Jeff, Your mom sounds amazing, full of life and so many offspring. She must have been ahead of her time. The song is moving, especially knowing your intention to honor her. I played an instrumental guitar song I wrote (not for him but it fit) at my Dads memorial service in 2011, music helps and hurts and helps at the same time. My condolences to you and your large family. 1
Larry T. Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Sorry I missed this. A true musical piece of art. It sounds like you poured over every second to create a strong, beautiful and memorable work. We all are born. We all will die. After that, who knows? 🎶 🎵 1
steve@baselines.com Posted May 29 Posted May 29 Nice uplifting feel to this - you were lucky to have your mom with you for so long. I lost my parents when I was in my mid 20s - born late. The older I get, the more I realize what a loss it was not getting to spend more time with them as an adult. 1

I guess, though, no matter how long they are around, it still feels like too soon when they are gone.
