tdehan
Why in Piano Roll View sometimes it shows number and other times shows a keyboard. Is there a way to make it show the keyboard when it is showing numbers? Edited April 28 by tdehan
OutrageProductions
If the track you are viewing has been frozen, it will just show the latter. Unfreeze it and the keyboard comes back.

This opens the Note Names Dialog box. tdehan
@tparker24. I appreciate the response however, that doesn't even come close to my question.

tdehan
@57gregy, I already have tried that, it does not make the keyboard appear, it just gives names. I want to see the keyboard
sjoens
This normally happens when a MIDI track's output is set to a frozen synth or is set specifically to display 0.. 127, but this can be overridden. "Right click on the very left in Piano Roll View" was right on but try Use these Note Names Instead > Diatonic to display keys. Side Note: Editing notes on a frozen MIDI/Synth track won't affect the synth until it's unfrozen.
tdehan
Ok, I got it to work. By clicking USE THESE NOTE NAMES INSTEAD and selecting DIATONIC, then click on USE THE ASSIGNED INSTRUMENTS SETTINGS and then back again to USE THESE NOTE NAMES INSTEAD and selecting DIATONIC it changes to the keyboard.
57Gregy
Oy. Of course you won't get a keyboard by scrolling. 😉

So, I recognized that mistake when I reread this thread.
