FIRST! There is no better DAW for me than Cakewalk producer 8. I WILL NOT change DAWS. I love that one too much. It functions EXACTLY how I need it to. . . EXCEPT, I need it to support vst3. I CAN NOT use the sidechain, frequency dependent leveling on my Oeksound Soothe2 plugin, without vst3 support. I went and bought Sonar x3 to see if soothe2 was beneficial to my projects. IT IS. I can't stand  x3 though. The interface is a BIG step down from its predecessor and its just not for me. I'm willing to pay a reasonable amount to get cakewalk to get me a vst3 upgrade patch for Producer 8, but those guys won't even take an email from me, I'm guessing they know I'm about getting results and not about a continuous subscription fee. What a world. 'Continuous improvement' business models are TRASH. (sigh) I'm just pretty much fed up with corporate planned obsolescence for the sake of raking in more money down the road. (Microsoft I'm looking at YOU here).

Well, Feature Requests belong in the Feedback Loop subforum. I'm sure that if you post this request there, the Bakers will get right on it for you.🙂

@bobbyashrimp what error messages are you getting. VST 3 was introduced around the same time as SONAR 8 not sure if it supported VST3.

What is your OS version Windows 7 does not support VST 3.

Are you aware that "those guys" are not the same company we have now?

No, producer 8 DOES NOT support vst3, that's why I posted this. I'm on Windows 10 64 bit btw.

As 57Gregy observers the company that technically own SONAR 8, Gibson, no longer care, they no longer support the product. There is nothing Bandlab Technologies are or can do to help you, I doubt they even have access to the source code.

Why not try CbB?

I believe you can load VST3 in SONAR 8  by hosting them Patchwork from Blue Cat Audio.

You insert patchwork into your track as a VST2 effect,  then load the VST3 within Patchwork itself.
