New Features in Ample Bass v4

Riffer 4 – A MIDI Editor Tailored for Picked String Instruments

  • Dual View Modes: Seamless real-time switching between Piano Roll and Guitar Tab views — a first of its kind, offering two perspectives for reviewing and editing your compositions.
  • String Visualization System: Strings are now visualized within the Piano Roll, enabling MIDI writing that adheres to authentic plucked instrument techniques  automatically preventing polyphony on the same string and intelligently assigning fingering. The result is MIDI that sounds closer to real performance.
  • Full MIDI I/O Compatibility: Whether you import external MIDI files or export from Riffer to your DAW's MIDI or instrument track, the playback result remains identical and accurate.
  • Extensive Riff Library: Hundreds of brand-new bass riffs to spark creativity and accelerate your workflow.
  • Intuitive Technique Editing: Easily program fingering, articulation, legato, and expression — no need for cumbersome key switches or MIDI CC programming.
  • New MIDI CC and Velocity Editors: View and edit multiple MIDI CC lanes simultaneously with different colors and transparency. One-click CC curve presets allow fast and expressive automation.

Boy, I really like the strings view on the Piano Roll and being able to edit imported tabs in Riffer. Please say that is underway for the guitars too :)

All you can do with Ample Bass v4 , you'll be able to do it with the next Upgrade for Ample Guitars....... but it will take Time before it's release.

Hi Jason! I've got a slew of Ample basses. You say v3 and v4 "cannot coexist" - but, dumb question, can I have a song with both v3 and v4 instances? If they are two truly different vst's, then why not?

Or did you mean that "v3 instances are not compatible with v4", or something like that?

Great products, highly recommended

Thanks!

I understand it as version 4 is overwriting version 3 or parts of it. Then you don't have a working v3 any longer.

Ample Sound updated Ample Bass to v4.01

Bug fixed:

  • Fixed audio crackling issues when buffer size is set to 256 or lower.
  • Fixed host sync issues in the Tab Reader.
  • Fixed tuning file problems across different instruments.
  • Fixed a bug related to Round Robin sample cycling.
  • Fixed root note errors in the Dice (random generator) feature of the Riffer.
  • Fixed an issue where, after closing and reopening the UI with the Chord Wheel enabled in the Riffer, the selected chord block could no longer be deleted.

This upgrade is free for existing users. Users can log in to the MyAmplesound page to download the latest version.
