[YES] CbB: No Local Help From Menu?

In Preferences I have Always Use Local Help checked.

In Registry I have UseOnlyOfflineHelp set to 1 and UserPaths > HelpFolder set to where my reference guide PDF is located. (I know it won't open it)

When I select Help > Documentation in CbB it goes directly to the website and automatically unchecks Always Use Local Help in Preferences.

If I'm offline, it warns me there's no internet.

Since there's no local help for CbB other than PDF, why are there options in Preferences and Registry?

EDIT: CakewalkHelp_Documentation_1.0.0.21.exe solves this issue.

this might not help, but it is apparently possible to convert a pdf to a chm (never tried it); would that give you a useful local help function?  (I expect not, but...)

There's others out htere too, and Im' sure some do a better job than others.

Thanks but this one usually exceeds page limits of online converters.

I've only used Calibre for reading books locally on my PC, but supposedly it has a converter that can do this.

this is a not so subtle developer solution to "we're not doing local help anymore use the online help"

Have you installed this file: "Sonar Help_Documentation_1.0.0.20.exe", which can be downloaded from the "Help - Check for Update" section? If you haven't installed it, then the "Always Use Local Help" option won't work for you. I always install this file when installing Sonar or Cakewalk by Bandlab (these are separate files for each DAW), and when you select this option in the settings, it is the local help that opens in a format convenient for information and instructions.

Senior moment #1023.  Thanks IgoRr.  I downloaded that file a year ago but forgot about it after reformatting the computer in January.

All good now tho the Help>Check for Updates link only gives me the CbB update and the new Product Center doesn't show it so not sure where I'd download it from again if needed.

It is a separate install, so you have to install it.
