e-cue
Free upgrade = free loyal customer If you don't own it, seriously consider it. My most used softsynth. 1
audioschmaudio
That's crazy. Just this morning I was thinking to myself "I wonder when Serum 2 is coming out". No joke. Edited March 18 by audioschmaudio

Each demo i seen over the years was horrendous ... i know to not judge softsynth by that before trying , will try it but the asked prices better deliver when pugments is 50 euros for V collection owners and you can get flacon , phaseplant or even omnisphere opfr not far prices wise !

That' s the reality no one wants to hear. I have plenty of wave table synths and they pretty much do the same thing if you are into making music instead of sound design. I've eventually owned Serum for less by using my PB credits. If you are not into program there are plenty of great 3rd party presets.

I did grabbed lftruml wavetables and it opens up a whole world also in sounddesign , until then , i was using phaseplant for wavetable sound desing , grabbed then UHE hive , great capable but the gui and fx section made me resale it ... hence i was intrtigued by serum update . Will have to test it ... Wanted to grab Iconic form EW , just to have great samples of CS 80 , Prophet ect ... and a solid player around , but serum with the new "drift" page in gloabl might be a solid VA also Do you guyz know if it loads single cycles waveforms ? Fair enough. Not everything is for everyone, but this covers so much ground and most of the time beats out whatever else we put it up against. Overtime, I found it to be as good a value as Arturia (which it saying a lot for me). Demo works every time you open it for a limited time last I remember. e-cue
There also might be a rent to own option attached to Splice. I know a lot of people got hooked that way.

Thks , price , for a solid synth i think it's fair , will test it , more cocnern adbout cpu hit to be honest , a big minus for Arturia in that aspect -pigment Edited March 19 by Zo

Others might have issues here, so demodemodemo. It might sound dumb but being able to Undo is one of my most welcome new 'features' in 2. The new Oscillator section is awesome. The Wavetable Oscillator (think "real world" instruments) has new warp modes, dual warp functions and phase distortion and new Multisample, Granular and Spectral Oscillators. The new Arpeggiator and Clip Sequencer is also a step forward, making it even more of a 'can be used for everything' soft synth. The presets (which most I really like) are guiding my way because it can get pretty deep.
Zo
Bon just fired it , chose pad , loaded first on : BIG cpu hit !!! i mean biiggggg I laoded patch named : PD Amazon Souls , cpu is crazy can anybody tell me if it's the case there system ... i have 8 therads at 3.6 ghz and this patch makes cpu hit in studio one asio meters goes in red straight !!! WTF !! Any settings for multithreading or oversampling , over than the "quality" settings ? this makes me kinda regret selling UHE hive lol EDIT : just made a patch two osc , zero fx , it sounds supper , still 50 % cpu what's wrong with that thing lol Superior to pigment when it come to workflow imho and raw sound , maybe a placebo or honey moon fx , but feels superb quality . Damn this cpu hit , would have been an instant buy Edited March 19 by Zo

I gave the trial of Serum 2 a go and loaded PD Amazon Souls. On my antiquated 4th gen i5 3.4 ghz CPU (which can handle Chromophone 3 - another known CPU hog), PD Amazon Souls crackles badly... they will really have to work on that CPU hit. Uninstalled Note: I have Msoundfactory 17.04, UVI Falcon 3.1.1 and Pigments 6 - All of which my PC handles well. I don’t think I will be spending $AU300.00 (or AU397.00 after June 1) on Serum 2 any time soon - even if they get that CPU hit under control.
