Anybody using Rode NT1 - 5th gen USB Mic with Cakewalk?

Really wanted to try this ASIO  mic in USB mode, as an update to my aging Yeti Pro.  However,  I can't get it to work. Cakewalk recognizes it, it hooked up properly, out is channeled to the interface, meters are responding - No sound.

I've tried this configuration for the mic in another DAW and another audio program , works as it should.  So definitely no the mic... I was wondering if anybody have/had this mic.

Cakewalk was not in the list of tested DAW's on Rode site. A tech support volunteered to recreate scenario. However if it's a known issue, I would like to update him on it.

Thanks.

Cakewalk распознает его, он правильно подключен, выходной сигнал направлен на интерфейс, измерители реагируют - звука нет.

To make audition the sound of the input signal from the microphone, you must have the "Record" button activated and you must activate the "Input Echo" button on the corresponding audio track. But when you activate the "Input Echo" button, you will inevitably have a delay, to avoid it, you need to activate two buttons on the "Transport" bar - FX and PDC (in the module Mute; Solo; Record etc.), the FX button turns off all software processing, eliminating the delay. But in this case, you will not be able to impose any effects on the input signal, this must be taken into account. And after recording, these two buttons will need to be turned off again.

Reading what you wrote below I changed my answer as I see you saying it has ASIO . You can’t use 2 ASIO devices at the same time so you use WASAPI shared and put up with the latency.

Игорь спасибо,

Unfortunately Echo, PDC, FX combination didn't solve it. This is a tricky mic. There are no controls on the mic itself so you have to route their (Rode's) ASIO driver to external output (which in my case is Apogee ASIO interface ).  As it stands, it seems there is some routing incompatibility between that mic + Cakewalk,  as it works in another DAW on the same computer.

NT1 is a highly respected mic and was recommended by friend long ago, but I think Rode made a huge mistake not to offer output and controls on the mic itself. Ohh well, it is both XLR and USB, so I will squeeze some fun out of it anyway if solution is not found.

So have you tried it using the XLR output?

Trying it with USB will likely lead to driver conflict.

Yes, nothing is wrong with  XLR, but I wanted to try RODE circuitry.   While I have a couple of fancy vocal mics, I have successfully used Blue Yeti PRO for vocals over USB from time to time for the past ~15 years in Cakewalk.  Their decade+ old ASIO driver is solid as a rock.  What I am saying is, when it's done right, it works without issues.  Who knows, maybe Rode rep will figure this out.  It seems like a company which cares about their babies. I will update this post if something will come out of it.

I've purchased a DAW that's likely be my Cakewalk replacement if Bandlab doesn't figure out normal licensing by the end of the summer.  Thankfully, Rode works there in USB mode. It's a good initiative to start doing more stuff in my alternative DAW  :)
