Audio metronome broken

Question

Posted

Running CbB 2019.09

In metronome settings, the dropdown box for choosing sounds for the audio metronome is empty. The sounds are installed at C:\Users\Public\Documents\Cakewalk Content\Cakewalk Core\Metronome.

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Cakewalk Content\Cakewalk Core\ is the root of my Cakewalk content as selected in the Setup and reflected in  Setup Folder Locations.

Why isn't CbB finding the sounds?

By default the audio metronome files used by CbB are in %appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\Metronome

Holding the SHIFT key while starting CbB will restore these and any other files missing from the user directory.

Thanks Scott, that worked. I see the files are now in C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\Metronome. Is that the folder they get copied to when you hold down SHIFT and start CbB?

No, C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core contains the master files used to populate the user directory %appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core when holding SHIFT while starting CbB (a.k.a. partial personalization).

The metronome folder in "Cakewalk Content" is redundant.

Which folder is redundant? The one at C:\Users\Public\Documents\Cakewalk Content\Cakewalk Core\Metronome ?

I now have the same issue my directory is:

C:\Cakewalk Content\Cakewalk Core\Metronome

Pressing the shift key does not help , the audio files are still not availbale in the drop down boxes...

This is not where CbB looks for metronome files

The metronome looks for files in %appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core\Metronome

No, the files under programData are the master files used to create %appdata%\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core

%appdata% is a Windows variable that stores the location of your account's AppData\Roaming directory.

Enter it in the Windows File Explorer path display to see the actual path
