Froze a SIT with Arturia DX7-V containing 4 measures of MIDI data. In same project, froze a SIT with Arturia Jun 6 V containing 4 measures of MIDI data. Internet disconnected. No crash here in CbB. sjoens
I'm freezing 206 bar tracks so it takes a while for the freeze. If the mouse even touches the Taskbar wifi icon while it's freezing, CbB "stopped working". Edit: Oh sure, now as I'm fixing to get a screen shot of the warning, it's refusing to crash. Thanks for fixing it, Pro. Edited February 3 by sjoens

Note, this was a single clip. I still was able to freeze this with internet off in CbB. Took a while, but it still performed the freeze without crashing. sjoens
Are you turning internet or Airplane Mode On/Off before or while the clips are processing?

You are doing while aren’t you? I didn’t try that - but that would not be my normal thing to do as my PC normally stays connected 24/7 I quickly retried while - still no crash. (with 206 measures - 12780 notes.) Are you sure it's internet related? Are yours one clip or multiple clips? Have you tried bouncing to clips before freezing? Does the same crash happen in Sonar 2025?
sjoens
These are separate MIDI/Synth tracks. MIDI clips are full length bounced clips. Being on or off Internet has nothing to do with the crashes. They only happen IF I move the mouse toward the Taskbar while freezing is in progress, so maybe there's another process going on under the hood that's interrupting CbB. It did this for 2 days until today when it stopped crashing. I can no longer replicate the issue so there's no way to know what was going on. Don't have Sonar yet. msmcleod
When CbB/Sonar is bouncing audio it's writing to the disk... if anything tries to hijack that file( e.g. AV / cloud sync services), then it can cause a crash as CbB/Sonar is expecting exclusive access to the file. I had exactly this issue when I had my Mega cloud sync service watching/syncing from my projects directory. I've also had it happen with OneDrive in the past. What I do now: Make sure Cakewalk directories - especially project directories are excluded from anti-virus / cloud sync apps. I now have a batch file to do an incremental copy of my projects directory to a HDD backup drive, and its from this drive the cloud sync is done from. 2
