As long as you don't mind installing yet another "control center" app on your computer just to install a simple plugin...and who knows what other invasive background stuff to go along with it, or autoupdates, or online-always-licensing, etc. (their site won't answer those questions, just that there is no standalone installer for anything and you have to use their control center).

You are not forced to use the Phil Speiser Control Center, if you want to install The_Spice.  Just log into your account and scroll down, then you will find the download buttons for the separate The_Spice Mac and Win installers.

Would be nice if their website didn't outright lie about that and tell me straight up that it requires the control center to install any of their plugins.

I've been collecting the freebies, but not installing them due to thinking I needed their control centre too 🤣

Yeah, I'm collecting his freebies too. I'm surprised by how many plugins he's already given away for free. I got THE_SPICE, THE_STUTTER, THE_COMPRESSOR, THE_BUILD and THE_VIBE, all for free. The only one that I paid for is THE_INSTRUMENT. It's also the only one that I use. I really like it.

I don't mind the Control Center though. It's convenient when you get a new computer. Just have to run one installer and the control center takes care of the rest. Better than having to install each plugin individually, in my opinion.

I think it may get be ok when you've got enough to make it worthwhile. If he gives me some more I might check it out! 🙂
