Dirk L Burgard Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Been away for a while, trying to write again but having trouble recording. This happens with new or previous projects (...including Chernobyl). I arm the track, switch echo from echo=off to echo=on. I see my guitar on the meters and I hear it but the needles and sound drop out when I activate the transport (play). All of the other tracks are fine everything is moving along except for silence on the track I'm recording on.
reginaldStjohn Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Are you saying you can't hear your guitar while you are recording but you can if you stop the transport? Please tell us what audio interface you are using and what driver mode (ASIO, wasapi shared/exclusive etc.) you are using.
David Baay Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Uncheck "Disable Input Monitoring During Playback' in Preferences > Audio Playback and Recording. This is not enabled by default. 1
Dirk L Burgard Posted January 2 Author Posted January 2 Thanks for responding. I'm using a Boss BR-80 as an interface. Thanks for pointing out the 'Disable Input Monitoring During Playback' option. Now I see activity but it's not being recorded. Nothing shows up in the 'timeline'.
Dirk L Burgard Posted January 2 Author Posted January 2 Driver mode is set to ASIO. Drivers: BR-80 IN and BR-80-OUT.

Guest Posted January 3 Posted January 3 Long shot but a common cause of missing recordings is the punch in is set for way off down the timeline.
