Legacy Project Templates

Is there any possibility of problems using a Project Template that I've been building on since Sonar was first introduced?  Should this all be backwards compatible with 2024.12?

Should be ok provided any plugins are where the system thinks they are.

We just figured out that using older templates will cause crashes because there was no pro channel. At least this seems the root cause of my recent problems. I was using a template from before there was pro channel. 
 

Edit Dec30. Just to update my original comment that I later found out that it was most likely the TTS-1 caused the problem. 
It was definitely a corruption of the project but until I hear back from staff I am only guessing.

The template in question is post ProChannel, so at least that won't be an issue.

I think if you load up the template make a few changes and re save it as a template that should update it to include features of the newest version.

This is a bit of a tough call. I would mostly agree with John that if you re-save a template after verifying everything is laid out and working as intended you should be in good shape, but I have occasionally encountered issues in the past with old templates that seemed only to be resolved by building a new one from scratch so I tend to feel it's good to start over once in a while. For the most part I find this happens naturally at least every couple years due to changes in hardware setup, favorite VSTs and evolving compositional focus.

I recently opened a project that had been untouched since 2007.  It opened flawlessly except for the plugins that had been jettisoned long ago.

Yes I open hundreds of old projects all the time.  No problem 90% of the times. 
I have narrowed it down to weirdness in the TTS-1. If there’s a TTS-1 track look out. It might be fine but going forward I am removing it if I find it. Or I might freeze it.
