Anyone manage to get Vegas 21 to scan or preferably skip scanning UJAM plugins?

I have noticed that other DAWs often hang on scanning UJAM stuff, especially VB-ROYAL, so it's more likely a UJAM issue.  Then again, other DAWs either skip/timeout the plugin or allow a way to avoid scanning on startup - not so with Vegas it seems. I have re-installed VB-ROYAL numerous times btw and also checked for duplicate/old versions of it.

Thanks

P.S. I have tried adding /NOVSTGROVEL to the Vegas 21 target after the quotes in the shortcut and also starting it while holding CTRL & SHIFT. It still scans VSTs on startup and gets stuck at VB-ROYAL. Reminds me why I went over to DaVinci Resolve many years ago!

@ZincT With VEGAS on board I got round this by setting up a seperate NOT WORK WITH VEGAS vst folder and put the plugins causing trouble in vegas in here. Did not ref that folder in vegas VST prefs / paths.

Of late though I have moved to setting up the following folder paths

- c:\audio data\vstplugins64
- c:\audio data\vst effects

In c:\programfiles\commonfiles\vst3 I have setup c:\programfiles\commonfiles\vst3\vst effects

So once plugins installed I manually drag drop the EFFECTS vsts into these 2 effects folders and the other folders then just have the VSTi's / instruments.

So now for likes of Sound Forge, Audacity, Vegas and other programs that DONT use the VSTi's I just put the vst effects folder paths into the VST Prefs/Paths and not the VSTi folder paths

Thanks @aidan o driscoll for the suggestion. Sounds like a good idea to separate instruments and effects, as I'm unlikely to use any instruments in Vegas or any other NLE.

The problem was that I couldn't start the program to change VST paths etc as it was just stuck on VB-ROYAL during the startup scan.

I have now managed to get it to start by deleting VB-ROYAL plugins (and restoring them afterwards). It turned out to be the VST3 version that was causing problems.

Vega offers amazing value.  I love that it has a version of mocha and that it has always had features that were similar to After Effects.

I wondered whether this included any version of Mocha as it's the cheapest version of Vegas 21.

I have now installed it but not sure how to identify any Mocha plugins. Any ideas? Thanks

To sort that i usually just temp rename the vst folder names. Go into Vegas. Rename the plugin folders bak to norm. Go to prefs / vst settings / rescan.

Best though to seperate EFX Vsts from VSTis to own folders

I would assume it's their VST3 that is doing that.  All of my DAWs choke on them, even their finisher plugins.

Too bad developers don't have options in the Windows start menu to bypass plugin scans.

All three were Sonic Foundry

Found this

https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/sonic-foundry-acid

I remember when Sony, Cakewak, Magix, Voyetra where kings of the boxed software in stores.  I remember buying those in boxes at Best Buy. Cakewalk Music Creator was my first by them.  Then there were generous offers for Home Studio and moving up to Sonar.  (it isn't like that now)

Acid ser the foundation for products like Ableton and pretty much the way all DAWs handle loops.  Almost everyone bragged of supporting Acidized files

I'm a 1000 plugins too late for this teadious work.   Once you get past the first scan you can disable plugins,
