could be a feature request - rollback to last version, or the updater makes a system restore point, a lot easier than messing about with VC Redist versions (which could impact other apps)

Rolling back to a previous version of CbB might leave users with a version of CbB that will eventually fail to activate.

That is very likely the reason a roll back installer for CbB is not provided.

Something has happened with a Windows update? That is causing crashes in both Cakewalk and Sonar. I submitted a dump file few days ago and the reply was as @David Baay posted above.
They sent me a link and it took all of 3 minutes to download and install. Painless.

And not sure why   @Noel Borthwick didn’t mention this in his reply but I am pretty sure all old versions of Cakewalk required activation. The older ones might only  time out after 6 months??

I would wager the timeout period is determined by the activation server so it can't be hacked on the client side. Versions available when the timeout was longer used a different activation architecture and server and can't activate against the current server at all. That's why an update was forced in the first place.

FWIW The previous version is more unstable for me than it was in whatever version came before that and probably more so than ever before. Just random problems here and there - a few times it's just closed with no warning, then it won't restart which seems to be because in the task manager processes window it's still there even though it's not on screen and doesn't appear in the running apps window. Killing it in the processes window allows me to open it again. I don't recall ever seeing this happen prior to that version.

Ya I forgot about that. Early Fall 2023 they moved the activation to a different server. Since then Cakewalk users had to be 100% up to date.

But it seems that a few people have claimed that they are still using older versions? Possibly BS?
