Sailor55
I reported a bug last month where, when using a Drum Map, the velocity lane shrunk horizontally when the drum map itself was expanded vertically. That was fixed in the last version, but... now it seems to have returned in a new form. When you click on any existing note (to move it or to sound it), each time you do it , the velocity lane shrinks vertically until it disappears. As before, this does not happen if the midi keyboard lane is open, even a tiny bit. Please see video. Anyone care to confirm? Colin Nicholls
I remember seeing this bug earlier also - both clicking on the note or changing the zoom level of the PRV would shrink the velocity pane until it eventually disappeared. However, I can not duplicate your experience in this latest version. (2024.12) Do you still see the problem when the note pane is also open? (Previously this would only happen if the note pane was completely closed).
Sailor55
If the note pane is open (it doesn't matter how much, as long as it's not completely closed), then the effect disappears. That being the case (like before), the workaround is to just open the note pane slightly. Still, its a bug, and it shouldn't be happening.
Sailor55
Also, thanks Colin. I wasn't aware 2024.12 was available. I was using 2024.11. I've just updated to 2024.12 but the problem (as shown in my video above) still persists.
HOOK
Yeah...that's happening here too. I would have never caught it because I use velocity tails on the notes themselves...and I never open the velocity window. You should submit the bug report. 20241211-1847-36.7957288.mp4 Edited December 11 by HOOK

msmcleod
@Sailor55 / @HOOK can you confirm exactly what version of 2024.12 you're using? I'm not seeing this on build 004 or build 006.

msmcleod
Ok, a couple of us here have tried to repro this with no joy. We've tried with different display scales, first open of a project / subsequent loads of project, clicking notes, altering velocity, before/after horizontal zoom etc. The PRV notes pane is totally collapsed for all tests. Tried with arranger pane expanded and collapsed. Still can't repro. We're gonna need a more detailed recipe... maybe a full screen video too in case there's anything else on screen that could give us more of a clue. If you could PM me a project, that may help.... also can you repro with a new project made in 2024.12, or is it only older projects?
HOOK
Full screen video here: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/2ewarow2j8i498z6kecvo/Recording-2024-12-17-103122.mp4?rlkey=o5dvpfmn968uougt8mbp1zh8a&st=w2dtsgja&dl=0 You got my PM? I'll work on getting a project up and I'll send you the link via PM as well. I'm not certain if this is just in new or older projects. I don't currently have access to new projects to test. I can take a look after 3:00 CST. Edited Tuesday at 04:41 PM by HOOK

I just set up a new project. Dropped in 6 snare hits. This quirk is still in the newest version of Sonar.
Promidi
Loading this project will make this issue manifest on my system. Controller Pane Gets Smaller with Every Click of Drum Pane Note - Sonar.cwp
Colin Nicholls
I can reproduce this on my system using @Promidi's sample project. Note that the project opens with both the Drum Pane and the Note Pane open, and I can observe the controller pane auto-shrink only after expanding the Controller pane to fully obscure the Note Pane. Good one!
