Sir
When I mix down through the master bus and export audio the resulting stereo image is too loud and clipping. If I re-import back into Cakewalk as a stereo track it is unusable. All busses are set to 0db. Any ideas? Thanks.
Mr No Name
are you exporting at 32 bit perhaps ?
Sir
Thanks. No 24 bit but I get the same result at any bitrate.
DeeringAmps
Are you sure your export is the Master ONLY? IMHO, you are exporting ALL busses, not just the Master. I could be wrong... t
Sir
No, just exporting Master bus. I've mixed down many tracks and never had this problem before. Thanks.

If you don't see hardware outs in the Console view, drag the splitter at the far right to the left to reveal them.
Sir
Yes thanks. They're set to 0db as well.

FWIW, I typically use a 'Pre-Master' bus with no FX on it to sum all tracks and sub-buses and allow metering/managing the input to the Master.
Wookiee
2 hours ago, Sir said: Yes thanks. They're set to 0db as well. Just one question have you muted all the tracks that feed the master buss. I have bounced the tracks down to a new track which is feeding the master bus. Then when exporting forgotten to mute all the source tracks. Just for the record, my preferred approach is to Output the 'Master Bounce' track direct to the main hardware outs (i.e. in parallel with the Master bus) and group that track's Mute in opposition to the Master bus Mute. Then you can freely A/B between them with one click, and your live mix is ready for further work any time.
