[Solved] Miroslav Philharmonic dll ignored by CbB. Please help

This is the older version of Miroslav Philharmonic (32b) but worked perfectly with latest Sonar Platinum. The dll file is in a proper VST folder. I have rerun installation of Miroslav several times and it is still not seen by CbB, VST scan says "0 new plugins". Same applies to Sample Tank 2.5 which can be used as a an alternative (sampler) skin for Miroslav sound libraries. Miroslav works fine as standalone, what should I do to make CbB recognize Miroslav as a VST instrument?  Please help

If they were scanner prior to running as administrator, the plug-ins may be in the excluded list. Try a manual scan with "Rescan Failed Plugins" enabled. After running the manual scan make sure to uncheck the rescan option.

When you say "The dll file is in a proper VST folder", can you confirm that it is in a folder that you know that CbB scans.  Also, have to gone into CbB preferences | Files | VST settings and performed a reset and scan (in that order).  Maybe enable "Scan in sandbox" and see of that makes a difference.

Hi, yes, it is in a folder listed for scanning  with other VSTs that work fine. "Scan in sandbox" was checked (even though I dont know what that means). Just in case I unchecked and then scanned and checked again and scanned but still nothing.

Old IKM software may need the DAW run as administrator when using Vista and newer.

Thanks Scook. CbB runs as administrator but still Miroslav and  Sample Tank 2.5 are "overlooked/omitted".

This same thing happened to me back last April when I installed CbB.  What you need to do is go to the IK Multimedia site and ask their tech support about it.  I don't remember exactly what they did, but the helped me with Miroslav.  I think they linked me to an update.

This time success. "Rescan Failed" was quick and ended up with nothing but when I did that again with also "Rescan All" checked (this took c. 10 min) now I see them both and they load as a synth as expected. I have some registration problem now but this will be sorted out with IK.

Good news.

Make sure to turn off both rescan options. They should always be off unless trying to fix a problem like this one.

I did that too. They said use Sample Tank 2.5 and import Miroslav sound library into it.

Yeah, IIRC that's what they told me too.  To be honest, there's something that Miroslav loses in Sampletank.  It sounds better in the Miroslav interface.

I offer two solutions:
1) Have another computer with 32-bit Windows, possibly even Windows 10. Install Sonar X2 there, and then install Philharmonik 1. On the 64-bit PC, have version 2 of Philharmonik installed.
Run the .cwp file used by Philharmonik 1 on the machine with 32-bit Sonar X2. Start Philharmonik 2 on the 64-bit PC. Copy the settings made in Philharmonik 1 to Philharmonik 2.

Solution 2 (with a Virtual Machine)

If you don't have another computer with 32-bit Windows, create a virtual machine in Windows 11 Pro, and install Windows 10 Pro 32-bit on that VM. All from the Microsoft website. We're not interested in activating the product.
From Windows 11, create a shared folder with full permissions for the "everyone" user, making sure it's shared correctly and visible from the VM.
In that shared folder, paste the Sonar X2 installer, which will detect that we're using 32-bit and install everything correctly.
Then, in that shared folder, paste (from Windows 11) the Philharmonik 1 installers.
From the VM, install Sonar X2 and then Philharmonik 1.
From Windows 11, copy all the projects we can't read in 64-bit to the shared folder. Open them in the VM and look at the Philharmonik 1 configuration.
In Windows 11 Pro, Philharmonik 2 must be installed. Run Cakewalk with Philharmonik 2 from Windows 11 and set the same instruments (or similar ones) that we set in Windows 11. Save our 64-bit version.
THERE'S NO OTHER WAY.
