jono grant
Curious about the new Sonar version. Is it just the same-old with a face-lift? Have any decades old issues been sorted? Thanks
user 905133
I am not going to comment on your questions (I'll leave that to others to chime in with their opinions), but I'd really suggest you look here (Sonar 2024 Overview).
Andres Medina
3 hours ago, jono grant said: Curious about the new Sonar version. Is it just the same-old with a face-lift? Have any decades old issues been sorted? Thanks I just subscribed to Bandlab. So far, it has a few new features that I like o lot. The UI resolution is REALLY BETTER. There are some other things, like the ability to filter the track view according to presets that you create. Very useful. Start-End Project markers are very handy too. The responsiveness of the program is better, especially with large projects. Just one thing is really annoying: the PRV has a mandatory dark background. As the latest release, it's still not possible to change it. You can use light themes, but they are not very nice. You can try for free 3 days though.

Terry Kelley
To the OP, the new Sonar is a facelift AND many new features and bug fixes. If you want a sense of the difference compared to the old Sonar, try the Cakewalk by Bandlab software. It’s over 5 years of improvements and fixes over the old Sonar. It’s currently free (the news Sonar is rental only.) Bandlab took CbB and started with the facelift and is now adding features. It’s as good as anything out there from a feature and performance stand point.. Edited October 25 by Terry Kelley

Max Arwood
Wow haven’t thought about those in years!! I need to go download monkey an see if they have made improvements. I was thinking crazy and wander what size a 5min 192/32 would compress to? How much can you monkey out of that dude?!?! Sorry, Back to the topic. Sonar will do more tracks and plugins with the same processor! I have a bunch of large pop/orchestra arrangements that will choak cakewalk, but play in Sonar. If you do very much music and need a cpu boost check it out! Edited October 26 by Max Arwood Can’t spell, can’t type!
