HOOK
Does anyone who uses Scaler find that it's 100% reliable in Sonar, or do you - like I - find that it's hit or miss? As in...sometimes it works and other times it just stops working for no particular reason?
Glenn Stanton
i don't often use it within Sonar, but it's been reliable - except when i try to use two instances sync'd, then it may or may not work as expected - but generally works in standlone mode. then again, keeping up with the Scaler forum, there are a lot of things behaving weirdly across OSes and DAW, and the fix is promised for 3.0 😉
paulo
I don't have Sonar, but for me Scaler 2 has always been flaky in Cakewalk. It works until it doesn't - usually after returning to the UI after having closed it to do something else it just comes up blank. I could convince myself that it has been better since whenever I last updated it (I want to say v. 2.7, but I'm not 100% sure) but I got so bored of it crashing that I don't really use it any more. It didn't happen in the DAW that shall not be mentioned, so it does seem to be a CW related problem.

Wookiee
When I contacted their support, they basically said, 1. They don't test it in Cakewalk SONAR, this was in the Gibson days of ownership of Cakewalk. 2. They weren't interested in testing it in Cakewalk software. 2 1
Noel Borthwick
I recommend that prior to purchasing plugins ask if they have been tested in Sonar. If not, and you get an answer like that, vote with your dollars. We work with any plug-in vendor big or small that is willing to work with us on resolving compatibility issues, even when most of the time it ends up being a plug-in fault. If it's actually a host issue, we promptly fix it. Read this article for a course of action to diagnose plug-in compatibility problems. 4
