SOLVED...Cake and MODO Drums 1.5 from IK...Still not working

Recommended Posts

Hey folks...a year or so ago I tried updating MODO Drums to the 1.5 version along with the three new kits.  Only thing was no matter what I (or IK) tried it wouldn't work on my system.  It wouldn't see or load any kits no matter where they were located...in the default folder or any other folder or drive.  Uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and even cleared out the registry.  No love.

So...I just reverted to the original version which worked fine...albeit without the three new kits.

Apparently this happened to many folks as there were multiple posts on IK's site regarding this issue...but no fixes.

So...as I had some time yesterday and since it had been a year or two since my travails...I thought to myself, "self, surely those knuckleheads at IK have fixed this by now... why not give it another try?  And guess what happened?  No, go on...guess.  That's right, it still won't work and I can't find any info on the interwebs to help.  I put in a support ticket with IK just like last time but so far....crickets.

Just checking in here to see if anyone else has been dealing with this bit of frustration.

Your thoughts??

MODO Drums 1.5 works fine here (stand-alone and in CbB) - always has.

What steps have you tried so far?

I am assuming you have gone into the MODO Drums 1.5 settings (cog, top right) and restored purchased content.

What worked for me was to NOT have the kits in the MODO folder but loose outside of it.

Also took a few times pointing MODO to them under the settings tab.

However, at any sample rate above 44.1 it's popcorn city.

  • Steve Patrick changed the title to SOLVED...Cake and MODO Drums 1.5 from IK...Still not working

Welp...Jason at IK Tech and I were able to track down and fix the problem with a good amount of screenshot exchanges and registry editing. Plus I had to create a brand new folder with the sound content files listed "just so" to finally make it work.  But we're hittin on all cylinders now.
