You Don't Want To Be Her

I wrote the song "You Don't Want to Be Her" with a workaholic in mind. From what I've observed in business, workaholics almost always find success. I also imagined what Ray Davies from The Kinks might say, as I've always admired his quirky and insightful lyrics.

Cool song, very upbeat, sixties with good lyrics and a good vocal performance, which is indeed, at least to my ear, very reminiscent of Ray Davies. Nice one!

I was thinking along the lines of "Dedicated Follower of Fashion" as I was writing the lyric. I mean in the vein of not a love song, and something that no one would ever write about.  Whoever wrote about a work a workaholic woman that gave up a normal life for a career, even though it happens all the time now days.

Thank you for listening and sharing your thoughts with me!

Very good indeed!  Good instrumental performance and vocal performance.  Not being familiar with Robyn Hytchcock, I would have to say given the topic of your wonderful lyrics and the general style of the music ---   it does kind of remind me of Ray Davies.

I enjoyed it very much!
