craigb Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 When a reply gets flagged as needing to be approved, why can't we just edit it to fix the issue? Because I used a word that shouldn't be an issue in the first place ("F edEx"), I went back to edit the post after seeing the "Approval required" red. But it says the post must be approved before I can edit it! That's just wrong! 1

Best we can do is approve a flagged post, or delete it if it's spam or if deletion has been requested by the OP. Particularly egregious crimes against forumdom are passed on to Wookie for summary dismemberment. 2

user905133 Posted May 10, 2024 Posted May 10, 2024 A week or two ago (maybe more), I had a post get flagged for automatic moderation. It was a reply to a post about a certain type of midi data earmarked exclusively for system commands. I'd like to think the moderator who approved the post got a chuckle that the very common portmanteau word triggered the need for moderation. Maybe things ending in "ex" get flagged. If it helps prevent whole bunches of spam, I don't mind. To all the volunteer moderators: Thank you for your service.
