craigb
When a reply gets flagged as needing to be approved, why can't we just edit it to fix the issue? Because I used a word that shouldn't be an issue in the first place ("F edEx"), I went back to edit the post after seeing the "Approval required" red. But it says the post must be approved before I can edit it! That's just wrong!

Best we can do is approve a flagged post, or delete it if it's spam or if deletion has been requested by the OP. Particularly egregious crimes against forumdom are passed on to Wookie for summary dismemberment.

user 905133
A week or two ago (maybe more), I had a post get flagged for automatic moderation. It was a reply to a post about a certain type of midi data earmarked exclusively for system commands. I'd like to think the moderator who approved the post got a chuckle that the very common portmanteau word triggered the need for moderation. Maybe things ending in "ex" get flagged. If it helps prevent whole bunches of spam, I don't mind. To all the volunteer moderators: Thank you for your service.
