Gswitz
In the same house, you can get 50 ms latency. This is 100ms round trip latency on blue cats connector plugin. Interesting but not there yet, imho. https://youtu.be/T-x1VoqOqag?si=vclbtrmobvbOR5QS This seems to be for the purpose bit described in the other chat more than across the internet collaboration. https://serverfault.com/questions/137348/how-much-network-latency-is-typical-for-east-west-coast-usa Looks like stanford to boston could be 40ms best network time. Practically, playing together isn't really possible currently over the internet. Now you can play in sequence... one person just plays and sends the stream to a friend who listens to the first performance and adds another. This chain can be as many people as you like, but the players cannot hear anyone downstream from them until they are done performing. craigb
Maybe it's slow because the censor bots need to check to make sure nobody is saying Fe dEx? ? 1
John Vere
I use a similar app called SonoBus. It has a lot of tweaking you can try to bring the latency down.
Grem
Thanks for the test results gswitz. I am trying to get with a few forum members to try these things out to see what can and cannot be done.
Max Arwood
Sonobus is great! I use it a lot. I check mixes in the car and iPhone. I lay in bed after I mix in the studio and listen on my iPhone. It is a great way to do this. FarPlay is supposed to be a good remote app. You would probably need a good fiber connection for any of this to work. You should try FarPlay too.

I've got a 100ft cable running from router in living room to my office. You can pick up ready made Ethernet patch cables on Amazon for cheap. Amazon.com Cat5e 50FT Network Ethernet Patch Cable Amazon.com: Cat 6 Ethernet Cable 100 ft Latency in Ethernet cables is roughly 5 ns per meter - so not an issue for 100ft cable. We're a bit lucky in that there's a cable supply place somewhat nearby (it's very close to the Intel campuses in Hillsboro Oregon), so we would always stock up there. We avoid the cheap Chinese crap cables they sell on Amazon like the plague! Here's the link: https://www.pchcables.com/ 1
