Xoo
I was wondering about this over the weekend: how much is down to liking the song, how much the sound of the guitar and how much the actual "tune" of the solo? There are songs I really like (and bands/guitarists playing said song) but the solo in the song sucks golf-balls through a 50' hose (Alex Lifeson springs to mind - I'm a big Rush fan, but think pretty much all of his solos are awful); there are bands whose guitar sounds like it's being played on a sub-£50 Argos* guitar+amp bundle, which totally spoil what might otherwise be a good solo; and there are solos which aren't necessarily "amazing", but the guitar sound is gorgeous so the solo is lovely to listen to. * Apologies to those not in the UK for the cultural reference. No, the only mistake was a missing "h" in the word "Rhythm" in your title! ?

Where'd it go???" and had go back and see what he did with the slide. Great idea!

Of interest, Stanley Jordan was playing on the streets of NY when I believe it was Al Di Meola walking by and signed him up/or encouraged him to record his music.
craigb
Found this featuring my buddy Walter! Interesting line-up too. I wondered if I would still see him playing after Jimmy (the bass player) died and he had his own health issues. Guess I shouldn't have been too worried, eh? ?
craigb
And this one just came up in my YouBoob feed! Some solos from that "other Craig" (who was also my guitar teacher and very short-time bandmate!). ?

After seeing this, I sat with my wife and we watched about an hours worth of his videos. Phenomenal musician. His creativity is exceptional. 1
