Didnt see this posted, so here I go with my first (I think) deal post!

Get Komplete 14 and enjoy free NKS plugins

For a limited time, we’re offering extra free plugins from our friends at AVA Music Group, Luftrum, and Wavelet Audio when you buy or step up to Komplete 14. Unlock a do-it-all synth suite with UNITY Nostalgic Synth, dive into an immersive pad collection with Lunaris 2, and explore unique Viking-style cinematic tools from Groth – all NKS-compatible and ready to roll.

Offer ends April 3.

I'm tempted myself, but does anyone know how the NI upgrades / updates work with Komplete and their different tiers? I started with Komplete 10, but for Komplete 13 decided on the "ultimate" tier. Am I able to drop down to Komplete 14 "standard" to take advantage of this deal, and later continue to "update" to ultimate in the future?

Also if someone does this deal can you report how the free products are distributed? Are they automatically registered to your account, or are the SN? I already own Lunaris 2 and hopefully would be able to sell this additional license?

Login to your NI account and find out what your possible upgrade path is.

There has been much debate on their forum as to the K13u to K14s pathway. It may be possible. Generally they only upgrade to equivalent or greater. This question is best answered there.

As to the Lunaris license, the free bundle addition is not resellable, but your original may be... on the open market.

Yeah my NI account shows I can upgrade to either path ($199 K14s, $399 K14u) but the real question is if this will somehow knock me off the ultimate path.

Wow this is getting confusing. So apparently you cannot "downgrade" from the different tiers, so if you say upgrade from K10 to K13u, you cannot buy K14s. Seems odd to me to deny sales but apparently thats how it works. But others say if you have another base license in your account, you can run two paths at the same time? I do have an old KOMPLETE 5 registration as well as a VERY old Kontakt 2, so I guess in theory its possible that one of these is upgraded to K14s. How I would specify which Komplete I'm upgrading I have no idea, but as I mentioned I do see both paths available in my offers. I'm just concerned that if I go to K14s that I'm now stuck on the standard level - though I guess I would still show an ultimate license in my account so I should still be able to upgrade back to that path.... Or perhaps its not worth all the worry for a free Groth and I should just use the tools I have lol!

I believe it's just about what you have in your account. If you still have a version of K Standard you remain eligible to update along the Standard path. If you still have a version of K Ultimate you remain eligible to update along the Ultimate path. So you're not dropping down to K Standard 14 - you're just updating your K Standard 10 to K Standard 14. Likewise in the future you wouldn't have to climb back up - you would just be updating your K Ultimate 13 to K Ultimate 15.

Not free for people who already have Komplete 14 Standard? ?

Why should it be? If you actually take a look at this "offer" then you can see that Komplete is not discounted at all atm instead of the regular 50% off sale. The buyer therefore effectively pays for the "free plugins", overpriced i might add.

So let's say you are a new buyer of Komplete:

  • Komplete 14 Standard (gets UNITY Nostalgic Synth (79€ OVP) free): 599€ -> you effectively pay 300€ for the free plugin
  • Komplete 14 Ultimate (gets UNITY Nostalgic Synth (79€ OVP) & Lunaris 2 (159€ OVP) free): 1199€ -> you effectively pay 600€ for the 2 free plugins
  • Komplete 14 Collector's Edition (gets UNITY Nostalgic Synth (79€ OVP) & Lunaris 2 (159€ OVP) & Groth (259€ OVP) free): 1799€ -> you effectively pay 900€ for the 3 free plugins

And I don't see this being worth it when upgrading from a Komplete version either. Again, given that Komplete is not discounted at all this makes no sense.

Thanks Solidos! I at first thought you got all 3 freebies for any Komplete (which would be a deal) but now realize you do not, so you are correct there is little point of upgrading now and should just wait until the inevitable 50% off sale
