OutrageProductions
I know that sidechaining has been available since at least SONAR X1 but... I don't know if you could get a 1909 Ford Model T with air conditioning and automatic transmission.

TheHum
Since side chain is said to be the oldest trick in the book of sound engineering i thought it would be possible in an old daw. Thanks anyway guys really helpful
mettelus
You just need to have a plugin that accepts side chains (like the Sonitus ones) on one track and insert a send from the track you want as the side chain to that plugin. Although the graphics are slightly different, the mechanics are pretty identical to newer versions of SONAR/CbB. Even side chain videos from newer SONAR/CbB versions (is hard to find videos from old SONAR versions) will cover what is involved. Will.
On 2/13/2024 at 5:50 PM, TheHum said: Is it possible to have sidechaining in Sonar 6? Thanks Steve You'll have to use it with bus tracks. Lets say you want to sidechain vocals to a track for radio. 1: Create a Bus 2: Route the output of the track to a stereo bus. 3: Insert a sidechain compressor (not all compressors can do sidechain) 4: Send the vocal track to the compressor input on the stereo bus track. 5: Tweak until you find your desired effect.
