Do you have to enter the credit card number etc and after that during checkout then enter the free code? Or do you opt for the trial version then somehow enter the free code? Thanks

No you don't have to enter credit card number. Just hit the Buy button, then a pop-up comes up, in there under Subtotal select the Add discount, enter the coupon code in that area, then select Apply, which reduces price to zero, then all you got to do is input your email address, country and postal code.
