lnsstudio
I’m using the latest Korg Kronos midi driver and it is working on a track in Cakewalk. The problem I’m having is the controller data coming from the Kronos faders (1-8 faders) are not sending controller CC data. Oddly, the mod wheel and pitch bend on the Kronos work without issue. When I use the Kronos in Pro Tools and Studio One, I do not have this issue. It’s seems like something really simple, I’m just not sure why it’s not passing the controller data for the Kronos through Cakewalk. Anyone have an idea where I’m going wrong here? Thanks, Steve
Wookiee
Are you seeing MIDI activity when you move a fader. Either in the MIDI gadget in the system tray or 8n the MIDI track of the plugin.
lnsstudio
Thanks for the reply! I am not seeing midi data when moving the faders in the Kronos. I am seeing it with the pitch and mod joystick on the Kronos and this works without issue ( can monitor the midi activity via the flickering status light on the track) . Strange it’s working on others like Pro Tools and Studio One. R/ Steve
Wookiee
If you can see the MIDI causing the track to flicker you are getting DATA. You could try recording each fader move to see what CC numbers are being transmitted. Have you configured ACT? If not then nothing respond until you do. lnsstudio
Thanks, it’s not flickering in Cakewalk with the Kronos faders, only its pitch/mod wheel flicker. I have not set ACT up. Sorry, I’m new to Cakewalk and wasn’t ware. I’m not sure how. I’ll need to look. Thank you, Steve

It is most likely that you are simply missing a step in configuring the way Cakewalk uses the MIDI output of the Kronos controller data. -Normally, MIDI track input is a separate function from fader & other CC control. And in your case, what you described would seem to be the mod & pitch bend affecting an instrument connected to the track, not the track control itself. As @Wookiee mentions, you may want to look into setting up ACT control, in order to use the Kronos transport & other CC controls for controlling the functions in Cakewalk. I would recommend using the documentation available regarding ACT control, and probably using the Mackie Controller preset, if there is not an available preset for the Korg Kronos. -With proper setup, that can work to allow both MIDI keyboard input to the track, and fader control to the DAW faders, and so forth. -That type of functionality does not happen automatically, it has to be turned on, and set up properly first. It can take a bit of work at first, but once you get the instructions working for you, you can also adjust it per your needs.
