Question about multi effects pedals and software plugins

I was curious if it were possible to use a multi effect pedal, such as FCB1010, hook it up to Cakewalk and use the pedals to control plugins. For example, lets say I have a Diezel VH4 plugin on Cakewalk, is it possible to control/toggle it from my multi effect pedal?

Yes But you will need a midi interface or audio interface with 5 pin midi ports. 
I had to look it up and it’s not a effects board like you said so my first answer was wrong. It’s a dedicated midi controller.

I haven't used the FCB, but I do use Roland's FC-300 and Yamaha's MFC-10.  Those have 5 pin midi connectors, so you need some type of midi IF.
