Get you bunch off Amazon. Keep a couple.with you. When she needs, charge her what you paid for them. Take it out of her cut. She wouldn't go for that I know. But it will send a message. Or when she ain't got a battery, have an old rusty 58 with a cable at the ready and hand her that! She won't go for that either!! Damn singers think they are indispensable!! How many times does a singer have to twist their wrist to screw in a lightbulb ? None. They just hold the bulb in the air and expect the world to revolve around them.

The bass player's sansamp runs off phantom, too. We have just one critical piece of gear that needs batteries, which is our singer's wireless mic. It has caused more than one panic 7-11 run right before showtime. I should probably buy them in bulk at Costco, but dagnabit, I supply the PA; she can be responsible for her own damn batteries. When my friends from the Hollywood area (the Los Angeles one, not the original one that's in Portland!) came up for a two-night gig at one of the casinos in Longview (one night as a Boston cover band and one as a Styx cover band), I provided almost all of the backline. Since I had most of the same gear they were able to just email me their settings and not risk sending their gear through the airport x-rays (see next post!). I had fun playing roadie (and playing the soundcheck) but, just as their intro music was starting, my friend realized the wireless transmitter for his guitar was dead, so I ran out there, slammed a new battery in (yep, I was prepared!) and had just exited when they had to hit their first chord. Good times! ?
craigb
One side-note about that gig, one piece of gear I did not have was this vocal sound-processor that was needed for a couple of minor effects. Unfortunately, airport security zapped it so, on one Styx song which requires a kind of ping-pong delay, I got to sing the word from one side of the stage while the keyboardist did it from the other. The crowd just thought is was part of the show!

John Vere
Sing and play instruments = useful band mate. Sing= useless band member Sing and look really good on stage= more useful than sing and play instruments.
