Draw CC expression on multiple tracks at once?

Question

Posted

Hi, I have three separate string midi tracks open in piano roll. If I select all the tracks in the edit window, I'm able to drag the CC expression up/down from the piano roll.

What I'd like to do is draw the curve manually and have it show up on all three tracks.

When I try this, the curve only draws on one of the tracks.

Is there a way to do it in one shot like this? Or do I have to do it to one track and then copy the CC curve over to the other tracks in the edit window?

Thanks

Use Paste Special to "link" the clips.  Any edits or new draws will affect all linked tracks.

Unfortunately there's no way to link existing track clips.  So once they're unlinked you have to repeat the Past Special routine.

Interesting, thanks.

I'll add that when tracks are linked, the PRV notes don't need to be selected for changes to affect all tracks, as they do when the tracks aren't linked.  Doing so will cause notes to disappear.

Here is one option.

Select all the tracks that you which to add Controllers to  (including markers if necessary)

Select Menu > Insert > Series of Controllers with reasonable parameters.

All selected tracks will have the Series of Controllers added.
