GTsongwriter Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 (edited) I've actually been watching for this one to drop. Although, it's not the lowest price I've found ($30), I guess I need to understand inflation. https://8dio.com/products/misfit-bundle?variant=41309880287432 Edited November 7, 2023 by El Diablo

jngnz Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 I got this a while back thinking I was going to get some fun, niche sounds. Nope. It’s bad. Like, atrociously bad. There isn’t a single instrument or sound in there I had any use for. Generally, my experience with the quality of 8Dio libraries has been extremely disappointing. I figured out they use the included phrases in their demos a LOT. So be prepared for the actually playable instrument to sound nothing at all like the demos for basically all of their libraries. Certainly the ones I got. It's borderline fraud. 1

If it "sounds" anywhere near like the thing, I've got a lot of special plugins that can turn the sound into whatever
GTsongwriter Posted November 7, 2023 Author Posted November 7, 2023 I'm not getting it for the banjo, trumpet, and other "normal" instruments. I'm getting it for the oddball stuff and I am counting on it to sound bad. 1
jngnz Posted November 7, 2023 Posted November 7, 2023 I obviously realise it's meant to be "bad", but it's bad in a nasty and not a funky way.

GTsongwriter Posted November 7, 2023 Author Posted November 7, 2023 The Jaw Harp is okay... Just probably going to have to use Melodyne to create the notes for it as it's own "range" sounds like they speed up or slow down the audio to create the pitch changes.
GTsongwriter Posted November 7, 2023 Author Posted November 7, 2023 Bucket Bass isn't bad, although you can only play one note at a time.
GTsongwriter Posted November 7, 2023 Author Posted November 7, 2023 Bicycle sounds... spinning the wheel around, raking your hand across the spokes, hitting something Tinny, slapping the tire?
GTsongwriter Posted November 7, 2023 Author Posted November 7, 2023 (edited) The Concertina .. You'll need a full sized keyboard to experience this. They pan the left side of the instrument for the left half of the keyboard and then pan the right side of the instrument for the right half of the keyboard. Pretty much split the instrument down the middle. Low notes on left pan, high notes on right pan. Edited November 7, 2023 by El Diablo
GTsongwriter Posted November 7, 2023 Author Posted November 7, 2023 Whistling instrument? You might be better off recording your own whistling and using Melodyne to tune it.
GTsongwriter Posted November 7, 2023 Author Posted November 7, 2023 Stompbox is absolutely horrible. Only has 6 tones of it sounding like your slapping / tapping the microphone differently. Sound Check! 1
GTsongwriter Posted November 7, 2023 Author Posted November 7, 2023 The Misfit 1 Stringed Diddley Bow is really neat! If you hold down C then press and hold G...it sounds like they are moving from C to G! That is so cool! I'd say "Misfit 1 Stringed Diddley Bow" is worth a buy.
GTsongwriter Posted November 7, 2023 Author Posted November 7, 2023 The Misfit 3 Stringed Diddley Bow is not as easy as the 1 Stringed version. Has 7 instruments with different layouts. I'd go with the 1 Stringed as it's easier to play.
