Sylvain Carel
Windows10 x64 Hi has anyone tried to use East West Classical Complete Composer with Cakewalk Bandlab? The scan has correctly identified the files VST 2 - C:\programfiles\vstplugins VST 3 - C:\Program Files\Common Files\vst3 but Play is not in the list of instruments (works fine in Standalone) Thank you for help
timboalogo
Hi Sylvain, You may be looking for "Play" under the wrong name when you try to load it. Can you load the VST manager (probably not the right name either!) and find your plugin there, and note the name that it will appear under in Cakewalk? The VST manager is on the menu somewhere, and it's not the one that you find in Preferences. Alternatively, there's a way to find it in the Windows registry, but that's more complicated. Hope this helps, Timbo Edited October 19, 2023 by timboalogo
Sylvain Carel
Hi timboalogo I checked everything, nothing unusual, it is the right name in the vst manager, and the scan too. East West support: "Please make sure that Bandlab scans those locations. Please note that the Play software hasn't received any update in over two years, and Bandlab is no longer officially supported by us" Note that Play worked fine with my old Sonar Pro in Win 7 x64.. Michael Fogarty
it works for me. My path is: c:\program files\common files\vst3\Play.vst3. Did you close restart your computer? That's what it takes for me sometimes if it is the first time to find the VST. Keep in touch. Layout -sort by manufacturer -East West. Sylvain Carel
Michael Play.vst3 is in (C:)\Programmes\Common Files\VST3 Do upper case letters for the folders matter?
Michael Fogarty
gosh, I've never messed around with that. ISn't the windows default lower case. Oh, is your computer in French?

timboalogo
And me too (sort of), being born and raised in Montreal, I used to be completely bilingue. So Sylvain, if you saw it listed on the vst manager then it's got to be somewhere on the CbB "insert synth" or "synth rack" listing. Have you tried going through each entry on the list of VST3 plugs? Bristol_Jonesey
Open up Preferences (P) under File > VST settings hit Reset followed by Scan This should populate your vst's accurately
Sylvain Carel
Thank you timboalogo & Bristol_Jonesey I tried everything you recommended, but without success. Perhaps less recent Play version is needed ...(version 1.4.13 is currently installed)
Michael Fogarty
this is hell. Did you try rolling back? I am 1.4.11. Can you get it? Do you have it?
