I've only ever used it for mixing (to learn the DAW). I create in Studio One Pro.

Hmm.... So Avid gets bought and less than a month later perpetual licenses are offered once again. I must of missed that press release. I've been on a perpetual license for the last 7 years. ?

My one recent outing with the free trial yielded attrocious timing errors in audio rendered from MIDI. End of experiment. No offense to those who know and love it for pure audio production, but as a MIDI musician, primarily, I wouldn't use it if it were perpetually free.

I've never done any MIDI in PT. Never will.

I barely do MIDI editing in StudioOne or CbB/(soon to be) SONAR.

If I didn't have two years left of subscription I'd get a perpetual license.

I create in Ableton but mix in Pro Tools. I have a pair of Avid S1 control surfaces and to me that's the best option I've found for mixing.

may be yes , but now it's perpetual don't worry  .
year to year users can decide if renew .. just like cakewalk platinum
