Sylvain Carel Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 Hi is the new Cakewalk by Bandlab will be able to open the projects (CWP) of my old Cakewalk Sonar Producer 8,5? Thank you
Bristol_Jonesey Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 Almost certainly. You might get an issue loading old plugins if any have been removed over the years, bu the cwp itself should (I hope) be fine. 1
Sylvain Carel Posted September 26, 2023 Author Posted September 26, 2023 Thank you ..I see you have Dual boot Win 7 & 10, does it work well? I had perhaps considered to keep my old Sonar with Win 7 (but VST3 doesn't work), and install new Cakewalk bandlab on Win 10 on an other HD.. Please tell me what you think
Bristol_Jonesey Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 To be honest, the only time I boot into Win 7 is when I want to use Sony CD Architect, and that's only because I've been too lazy to migrate it across to Win 10 ?
Sylvain Carel Posted September 26, 2023 Author Posted September 26, 2023 ? In case there are 2 OS in the same partitioned hard drive (Win 7 & Win 10), that question I ask myself: how a new DAW, we'll say Cakewalk bandlab, installed in partition Win10, is capable to scan VST in 2nd partition Win7 , way that my plugins can be used. Best
Bristol_Jonesey Posted September 26, 2023 Posted September 26, 2023 I've got all of my plugins installed on both But my sample libraries are all on a 3rd disc which is visible to both Win 7 & Win 10 All of my Audio files are on a 4th disc, again visible to both
Sylvain Carel Posted September 26, 2023 Author Posted September 26, 2023 Ok that's fine! I had this intuition, and I thank you for confirming it? Big thanks for your help and clarifications? All the best, have a nice week 1
