Still have my PT 10 perpetual, occasionally looked at upgrade specials and still not been tempted. Studio One Pro and Logic Pro X still work great for me :).

I expect this acquisition to hasten the release of more native plugins and put downward pressure on pricing. ☺️

Looking at  Avid's financial reports explains why they sold out. They were not profiting that much (last figure shows an operacional cost of about 200k with about 400k of profits) and were spending quite the sum on marketing alone. The report also talks about loss of profit and sales in places.
