Rob Grimes
Cakewalk Sonar Platinum worked and then it didn't. When I click on the icon the splash show and than nothing. I attempted to download the install from the legacy Cakewalk manager and it is doing the same thing. I wanted to start completely fresh but now the cakewalk manager doesn't list a install as an option. ??
reginaldStjohn
You could try a complete uninstall, go through the registry and remove all references to Sonar. Then try to re-install. It could also just be that you need to re-install the C++ runtime libraries for your version of Platinum. Or contact support at Support@cakewalk.com
Lord Tim
Considering no changes have been made to SONAR since 2017, it's unlikely to be SONAR itself that's the issue, more than likely another application has overwritten a library that SONAR was expecting, or Windows has updated and caused something to break. I'd start with checking your Redistributables - make sure they're all up to date, as per this thread: Obviously make sure you've rebooted before you install anything too, just in case any part of a program is still open in memory and blocks part of the install. Byron Dickens
What changed about your system?
sjoens
It may be stuck in Background Processes. Open Task Manager and look for it there. If so, try rebooting the system.

Good thing we have Cakewalk by BandLab, which does work, and it works better.
