My new song, vocal from mostly 1 take, no Melodyne or tuning applied, new 32 bit audio interface.

Yup, 32 bit vocal recording in Cakewalk and rendered down to mp3 16-bit, 44khz.

Let me know your thoughts awesome Cakewalk peeps!

what is the vst plugin guitar???????????jack c

The guitar is a couple of samples joined together from splice.com

Then I used Scaler 2 to figure out the chords for the pads I added.

The chords were so complex that I did not think I could try and play them.

Scaler 2 did a fantastic job making midi chords of the wave samples.  Thanks for the compliment on my song Jack!

Wonderful song, Rex.  The guitar accompaniment carried me away to some tropical place and stayed with me for a while. I think I would have used a bit more reverb on the voc but that's just me.

Guitar sounds just a little forward in the mix to me and I'm picking up some ever so slight distortion on the bass strings (but that could be these earbuds instead of my usual over ear headphones).

Nice work with lyrics on this, as well as your usual song craft.

I think you are right about the bass, it could be distorting, maybe in the channel or the brick wall overall limiter.

It is a Rickenbacker bass so it does have rather gritty attack.

The guitar is forward as well, I tried adding a bit of reverb to it but it got muddy. Maybe I should have left a little bit of it.

Thanks for the critiques they are very helpful!

Very best to you Andy!  ??

A tropical place sounds nice, a beach with some sunny surf!

I struggled with the reverb in this song, consequently, I may have under used it.

Your observations are very welcome Bjorn, suggestions like this are how I improve on these songs.

Best always!
