Sailor55 Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 My band suggested I try to create something that can be played with two guitars, bass, drums & vocal. In other words, what we have, not what we wished we had. No dulcimers, funky horns, fat strings, female choruses, grand piano or zither. None of that. Okay. Here's what I came up with. The only synth is Addictive Drums 2. I played all the rest. http://www.taggerband.com/Music/DBH/TinySquares.html 2
amiller Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 I like it. The drums are a bit stiff but nothing that couldn’t be tweaked a bit.? 1
Guest Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 I mean, it's not as if any decent music was ever made with two guitars, a bass, drums and some vocals. ? I like this, it has a live feel and I imagine it sounds really good live - my only very minor crits are that I would consider adding some slightly more complex harmonies on the vocals and I would definitely open up that lead guitar a touch and really let that thing rock! Old Joad Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 I like it, sometimes less is more. the only thing I would say is this would have been a great opportunity to do an old school LCR mix. 1
ABull Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 I like this -- creative lyrics and an interesting arrangement. While this demo needs a bunch of tweaking you have something good to work with here. I'd like to hear this again when you tighten it up. Good work... ~~Allan
garybrun Posted December 11, 2019 Posted December 11, 2019 I liked this... clever lyrics and has a lot of potential. I agree with the comment on LCR mix. Nice job. Gary
DeeringAmps Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 Fine tune, as has been mentioned drums could be "dressed" up a bit. My two cents worth; I'd put an acoustic "rhythm" guitar on it. Keep it simple, open chords, something to "glue" the whole thing together. I know that ups the count to three guitars, but that's what I'm hearing... Tom
