ZanyDog Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Would really be nice to be able to split audio by selection. This would split it at the beginning and ending of the current selection making the selection a separate clip.
scook Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Try the Split At Selection option in the Split Clips dialog. 2
ZanyDog Posted August 28, 2019 Author Posted August 28, 2019 That is awesome, as are you. Thank you!!
David Baay Posted August 28, 2019 Posted August 28, 2019 Holding Alt with the Smart tool gets you the Split tool, and selecting with the Split tool splits out the selection in one go. Another method I frequently use when I've already made a selection is to just cut-paste using Ctrl+XV with the Now time snapped to the beginning of the selection. I have F7 bound to 'Go to From' as it historically was by default before X1, so the steps are Select, F7, CtrlXV. 2

I was going to mention this earlier but couldn't remember the shortcut for the life of me.
RBH Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Nice one folks - thanks for this reminder - I've been splitting and editing a very large session over the last few days and I've been doing all the splits with individual selection points - this will cut my time in half. 1
