. . . an interesting question, if you’re wondering what comes free in CbB for drum sequencers, I think it’s just Cakewalk’ s Session Drummer, and Studio Drummer (Studio Instruments), but they  are  kind of basic and limited. For serious and intuitive preset grooves  I would recommend  Fxpansion’s BFD3, or even their entry level BFD Eco.

MDrummer Small was the free version of Melda's MDrummer... last updated for version 6, but still available to use. If you get that, be sure to download the "Essentials" pack under "MDrummer Packs" on the left. I am not sure if the Studio Packs will play in MDrummer small (I assume they do not); but if they do, there is a lot of extra material there.

It has a pretty nifty "Generate" button for both kits and grooves that is useful to jam with.

Another vote for Jamstix here.  Ralph makes a fine product (and hopefully it will be mapped to MODO DRUM soon too!).

The latest Jamstix Beta version has been mapped to MODO DRUM, so it's only a matter of time for the official release.

(And users are allowed to try the Beta version if they are so inclined.)

Thank you I didn't see this!!  I typically avoid beta versions so this flew under my radar.  I'm sure Ralph will let me know when it is baked into a release version though.

Each Studio Instruments included in the Studio Instrument Suite includes some midi patterns.   In the screen shot below, the top red rectangle is where you select which drum kit patch is used.  The middle red rectangle is the midi pattern browser and player.  The bottom red rectangle has four buttons where you can copy midi patterns to complete a midi phrase.

Here are some links to find midi drum patterns; some are free while some are commercial.  Midi patterns create small files so you'll find hundreds of patterns may fit into a small download file.
