Audio track views.

I am working on a project with both midi and audio tracks.

My question is: "  Is it possible to get either a PIANO ROLL and/or STAFF view of the audio track? " 

If yes....how can this be done?

You'll need to convert audio to MIDI first. Melodyne Essential can do a monophonic line, but Editor or Studio are needed to get polyphonic detection.

...and it depends very much on the material how well the conversion is done. For example distorted sounds may cause lots of mistakes. Be prepared to do a lot of corrections manually.

Somehow and for one reason or other, I cannot find Melodyne on my system.....version of Cakewalk.  Is this something that I would have to purchase separately as a stand alone?

Melodyne Essentials came free with Sonar Platinum and X3. If you don't have it, you have to purchase it.

As noted above Melodyne Essentials came with SONAR X3 Producer/Studio and SONAR Platinum/Professional. If you have one of those DAWs, the Melodyne installer should be in your Celemony account, if the product was registered.

CbB comes with a time limited trial version of Melodyne Editor, however; it is not part of the core install. Melodyne and a few other items have separate installed on the "Install Add-ons..." menu in BandLab Assistant.

 

Make sure to install the VST3 plug-in. This is use by CbB for all ARA2 features - Region FX, audio to MIDI and tempo mapping.
