Notes_Norton Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 When Stan Getz plays a bossa it's as good as it gets. Me? I like them, but I wouldn't want to play nothing but bossas, after all it's fun to play blues, funk, rock, soca, reggae, salsa, merengue, bolero, disco, swing jazz, motown, rhumbas, and dozens of other styles too. My wife is my musical partner so we share the bossa duties ;) Notes
Notes_Norton Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 (edited) Leilani and I attended this concert when we vacationed in Prague. If you look carefully you might see us in the audience (since I have little hair on top, it's "Find Baldo") Edited October 15, 2019 by Notes_Norton 1

Notes_Norton Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 (edited) Here's The Man - Bobby "Blue" Bland One of my first blues albums and still on the top of my list. IMHO it has the definitive versions of "Stormy Monday Blues", "Blues In The Night", and "Turn On Your Love Lights" plus quite a few other great cuts. Edited October 16, 2019 by Notes_Norton

Notes_Norton Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 (edited) One of my very favorite Stan Getz albums. And that leads to another favorite sax player, Stanley Turrentine. Salt Song - Stanley Turrentine Edited October 19, 2019 by Notes_Norton 1
Notes_Norton Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 (edited) Not to forget some good guitar. This show convinced me that Jeff Beck is the most technically accomplished rock guitarist alive. The camera operators and editors must be guitarists, because whenever Jeff does something super-human, they zero in on the hands. And Tal Wilkenfeld is too cute and young looking to be the monster bass player that she is. Live At Ronnie Scott's - Jeff Beck Edited October 19, 2019 by Notes_Norton
Wibbles Posted October 20, 2019 Posted October 20, 2019 I just got a notification of an upcoming David J gig ... still going 40 odd years later. (It'll mean something to at least one of our members.) 1
Wibbles Posted October 20, 2019 Posted October 20, 2019 No, no, I definitely didn't say what I was quite clearly recorded saying. And never mind the bed bugs.
