"The Warmth Of The Sun" - The Beach Boys

A lot of their lyrics are corny by today's standards, but their harmony singing was top-notch by any standard.

I prefer to think of them as charming rather than corny. But yeah, those harmonies ... You always get the best harmonies from siblings/close relations.

We just learned "Fun Fun Fun" for a regular audience member. We play once a week on a deck at a marina on a lagoon across from a state park. The location brings out a lot of beach, tropical, and other "summer songs" from the snowbirds who are vacationing down here. And they are fun to play.

The song is Fun Fun Fun but with the two of us, we don't have all the harmonies so I put some of the parts on the synthesizer and included it in my backing track (I make my own backing tracks for my duo)

"Over The Rainbow" - Eva Cassidy

My wife just turned me on to her. Amazing talent on both guitar and vocals. How could she have stayed hidden from me for so long?

More Eva Cassidy

Autumn Leaves  (nice guitar work and vocals)

Ain't No Sunshine (a nice take on the Bill Withers song)

She died of cancer when she was 33 years old, but left a lot for us to enjoy. Too bad she was taken so soon, as there wold have surely been a lot more great music for the world.

A little bit on the smooth side ... I prefer Gomez's take on it (I admit to have posted this fairly recently but it's always worth another listen:D).

On hold to my web host's tech support, with really, really bad "on hold" music interrupted every 15 seconds by someone thanking me for my patience - even though my patience ran out about 15 minutes ago.

Aaaarrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhh

Problem solved. My webhost changed the name of the outgoing mail server.

They may have sent out a letter that I didn't understand or ignored, then again they might not have judging from the loooooooooong hold times.

But all is well that ends well.

So what should I listen to to celebrate the restoration of my e-mail client?

???

Not a country fan, but love this track and MC does a great job on it (as does Dolly :)).

We actually do Jolene at that speed. Leilani kills it on vocals, I play fuzzy compressed guitar with the treble turned down, and I made a backing track very similar to the slowed-down recording. It's a lot of fun and the audience loves it.

I'm not a Dolly Parton music fan, but she is a talented songwriter and from what I've read about her, I think she is a nice person. It's just her voice that doesn't really agree with me.

"The Yes Album" - Yes

One of my all-time favorite rock albums, it looks like the "Deluxe Edition" has additional material (I think it has 3 extra tracks). So I'm checking it out.
