Chris Boshuizen Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 This is probably planned, but it's wasting enough of my time every day I want to mention it here. The action in File -> New is out of date. It pops up the old New File dialog, which requires a project folder. The start screen and Ctrl-N just open projects without this, so can we make the menu behave the same as Ctrl-N?
Base 57 Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 You are, of course, correct in your observation. But I would prefer that it not be changed. When I want to create a new project using my default template, I use Cntrl-N. If I want a new project with a different template, I use File-New. I never use the Start Screen.
Chris Boshuizen Posted May 11, 2023 Author Posted May 11, 2023 How about if the file menu opened a modern version of that dialog in the start screen, with clear options like the ones you use now? At the end of the day, they are two versions of the same thing.

In my mind it is a redundant graphic to help noobs find their way around the program. Absolutely nothing wrong with that but, the current functionality works for me. If it were to be changed... I will adapt.
