Dave Smith Posted August 4, 2019 Share Posted August 4, 2019 Hello, I wonder if someone could please give me some advice. I purchased the Cakewalk Z3ta+2 VST back in 2011/2012. I still have the emails to prove purchase, as well as my Cakewalk login details and serial number. I have just purchased a new music computer, and am in the middle of migrating all of my VSTs from my old computer. I went to Cakewalk's website in order to obtain the Z3ta+2 installer, only to find out that they seem to have been taken over by Bandlab? Is this correct? If so, then can someone please tell me how I can obtain the installer for the Cakewalk Z3ta+2 VST? My Cakewalk account login details were not recognized, and the website would not let me change my login in details. All it keeps doing is redirecting me to the Bandlab website. I hope it is still available, as I have a hard drive full of music which used the Z3ta+2 VST to create it. Any help would be much appreciated. Yes, they should be able to get your account details sorted. Then your licensed products will still be available from your legacy Cakewalk "My Account". Good luck! Dave Smith Posted August 7, 2019 Author Share Posted August 7, 2019 Thanks for the support. However, it is not looking good I'm afraid. I have been in touch with Cakewalk support, and it seems that although they have found my account, it was set up in 2012, and therefore I am no longer able to access it. As I still have the serial number from when I purchased Z3TA+2 way back when, then all I really need is the installer. I have asked Cakewalk support whether they can supply me with the installer, but I am not holding my breath. I was able to locate your registrations in our database, but it looks as if you did not create a Single Sign-On account with Cakewalk prior to the company's closure in 2017. Back in 2014, Cakewalk had advised users to migrate any previous registrations to their new account platform that would combine the web store, the user forum, and features from cakewalk.com all within one account to log into. This system was in place from mid-2014 until Gibson ceased operation of Cakewalk in 2017. If you have the original discs, you can install as normal. Right-click on the desktop icon and choose Run as Administrator, then enter the codes as seen above to activate the program! While we cannot assist with account creation on the legacy Cakewalk site, we're thrilled to have announced that Cakewalk by BandLab is free for 64 bit Windows 7, 8, and 10 users! This is our continuation of the previous flagship SONAR Platinum and is a current software receiving updates and support." ----------------------- I can confirm that I did not create a Single Sign-On account with Cakewalk back in 2014, as Cakewalk did not inform that I had to. Cheers! Aha! I see now. I created the new account in 2014 when I was making a purchase in the store. I recall having to ensure all of my products were migrated. Unfortunately, besides the serial number, you will also need the registration code listed in your account in order to activate the original version of Z3TA+2. That was generated when you first registered the software to your account. So unless you wrote that down somewhere, the installer will do no good. I checked my serial number email from Cakewalk from back when I purchased Z3TA+2 directly from the Cakewalk web store in 2012, and it contains the serial number and registration code. If you purchased the product from a 3rd party retailer, you probably got the credentials from Cakewalk when you redeemed a code at the Cakewalk web site. Ok, sorry that you lost your lifeline to a great synth! If it's any consolation, I can recommend an awesome free synth that somewhat reminds me of z3ta+. It's a subtractive hybrid that can use wavetables. It comes with 1000 factory patches, and 183 wavetables. Plenty of wave shaping controls and great sounds! Dave Smith Posted August 7, 2019 Author Share Posted August 7, 2019 An update... The superstar legend that is Jon Sasor sorted it all out for me, and I have just installed Z3TA+2 on my new system! All I had to do was show him proof that I actually purchased the synth, and then he supplied me with my serial number and registration code, as well as the installer. Awesome customer service! Thanks to every one who has tried to helped me with this problem. Don't worry - I will be keeping my codes and installer safe from now on. Thanks every one.
