Christopher Myhre Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Make it 4, just built a new desktop and finally have a working setup with FW again, after using laptops exclusively for a while(I was still using my 1884, but only for extra pres via adat). I successfully installed your plugin and got the control surface working, now I need to dig in on actually using it in my workflow. Thanks for creating this.

It's been a few months since the last post here, but does anyone have thoughts on what might be wrong woth my setup? I have everything installed, using Windows 7 compatibility mode on the Tascam software, the plugin works great sending info out to the 1884, play and stop lights work, faders can be moved on the device from Cakewalk as as well as from the plugin gui, but nothing from the device is reflected back in Cakewalk.
Christopher Myhre Posted March 4 Posted March 4 I figured it out, man this stuff is finicky. Swapped FW cables and a slightly shorter one works fine.

You probably know this, but never plug or unplug the firewire cable with the unit powered up. I (and a lot of others) have fried the FW-1884 firewire chip by doing that. Not a fun repair 🤪 1
